Oco, podenco saved from the streets of Spain, waiting for a forever home

Oco 1 250 Please could anybody offer a forever home to this adorable podenco, currently in foster in southern France.

Oco was found on the streets in Spain with long curly claws. His only friend was a cat and an abandoned galga (Spanish greyhound). His owner didn’t care about him and pretended he’d given him to a friend.

So, a rescue organisation trapped him (they were trying to trap the galga too, but she couldn’t be caught), pulled over 20 ticks off him, cut his claws and put him into foster care in Spain. When a member of his foster family realised they were drastically allergic to him he had nowhere to go, so he travelled to the Lot in south-west France where he is in a foster home for the time being.

Oco cropped 250 Since being taken off the streets he has been playing for the first time and is learning how to accept love (and head rubs) from humans. Oco really needs attention and love from humans and would therefore do well in a home – either as a single dog or as part of a pack – where human contact and love is readily available.

It only usually takes a matter of minutes for people to say what an amazingly loving dog he is as he works his way in to every heart.

He’s on Facebook page link here

Can’t express strongly enough how amazing Oco is. I was going to adopt him myself after fostering him, but due to a change in circumstances it is – regrettably – no longer possible. He is so, so loving and likes nothing more than cuddling up to you on the sofa. If anyone is interested in giving this incredible little boy a home, please contact me, Frances, for more info (francespenwillcook@gmail.com).
