Hanged galga in Toledo – saved! Trapped galga in Toledo – saved! Please help with vet fees

Hanged galga 2 Bea June 2011 190 This galga was hung last week. Luckily she was rescued before she died, and is now in the care of L’Europe des Levriers.

Her trachea was severed by the thin rope around her neck and her lungs were very infected. Her neck had two holes from the trachea and worms and lots of shit were inside. The most complicated was that there were also very thin bots in the wound.

The galga was also suffering from a undernourishment and her liver and her kidneys had infection.

She was near Ocana, the same area where Nicolas was found on Christmas Eve.

The galga has now been operated on in Toledo; 30 clips to hold her neck skin together. She is now safe in a veterinary clinic in Madrid and in the care of Cristina, vice president of L’Europe des Levriers, who also took care of Nicolas after his operation.

L’Europe des Levriers have also taken care of 4 galgas which were abandoned in the street in Fuensalida, the same village in Toledo from where the galguero who has been judged for having hung his galgos came from. One of the galgas had a bad injury. One leg was trapped and she chewed her leg off. The flesh stayed in the trap and her leg was very infected – not surprisingly it has had to be amputated. (I’m waiting for photos of this galga)

So, as you can imagine, these poor injured and traumatised galgas are going to need extensive veterinary care, which is going to cost a lot of money. L’Europe des Levriers are appealing for donations. Click on the website for details of how to donate.

Bless the saviours of these rescued souls and those involved in their continued care.

As do all the brave volunteers and vets, they all
feel the same. We have to keep supporting them, otherwise what would
happen to these poor innocent souls.
Thank you for caring and commenting.
