Do you remember the story of the hanged galga saved by Letitia and taken to the home of Cristina, vice president of L’Europe des Levriers? Here is the latest news about her.

She is now called “Campanilla” (Bell in Spanish) and she lives in home in Cristina in Madrid. It is the poor galga who was hanged and Leti found wandering the streets of a village near Toledo. The rope had cut her neck under the trachea and she was suffering from severe malnutrition. The veterinarian of Toledo did an excellent job of repairing her wounds to pepare her for transporting to a Madrid clinic where Cristina could look after her. She remained there a week and last Monday she went to Cristina’s home.

On the 3rd day, Campanilla gave Cristina her first smile! Campanilla is full of life, demonstrating how she was strong enough to survive against this terrible battle against death. She is simply happy and amazingly it is as if nothing had happened to her, apart from the terrible scar around her neck, reminding us of the nightmare from which she escaped.

This little lady loves the garden, the sun and of course, food. The sofa is also much appreciated. Campanilla, like Nicolas, is another adorable galga full of love. We are so proud of them! (Nicolas was saved on Christmas Eve by Baas Galgo, sent to Cristina for further nursing and foster, and now rehomed in France by L’Europe des Levriers.)

Campanilla progresses each day a little more. She has even started to play.Incredible! She is currently being treated with Ivocmec. Her body is full of wounds.

Cristina says that this pretty Princess will soon have her forever home and that it is a pleasure to see her every morning playing and jumping about to show how she is happy to be alive. She has already gained 2 kg!
