These galgos are in the Toledo perrera and the association has been told it is the last time they will be allowed in there. In 3 months they have managed to take our more than 100 dogs, with the help of the protectoras and individuals who have made this possible. These are the galgos currently there, mostly young ones.

why is this the last time they are alowed in these poor dogs need rescuing all the time is other rescues going to go in with them to help these beutiful galgos
I was wondering the same thing why this is the last time their allowed in their .
The problem is that most of the perreras dont like the bad publicity they get if they let people in to photo dogs and the conditions. No one is allowed in Mairena now, or Olivenza…no pix coming out of Jaen either. Probably the same with this one.

beryl cant any thing be done to turn this around them poor dogs if they treat them with respect then they would not get bad publicity would they they are well out of order

Sadly the public appeals for the dogs often
highlight the poor conditions some of the perreras keep them in, and that is
what makes it so terribly difficult for the volunteers who try to go into the
perreras to save some of the dogs. Dozens of dogs in every perrera put
down every week, simply because of the difference in attitude between the
Spanish – and other European countries sadly – and the Brits. And lets
remember that some of the Brits can be cruel bastards too. But not on the
scale of the Spanish! How do the volunteers keep going!

your not wrong there beryl i know it happens here i just not in the areas i hear about heres 2 for instance rusty you probabley might of seen this one he was found on a welsh hill side be about 6 years ago now maybe a bit longer he had been shot more than once he had had his ears cut off and other things he was still alive wagging his tail when he was found but the poor grey had to be put to sleep the same day injuries so horrid then there was valentino poor girl not long befor giving birth she had been killed her ears cut off she was found valentines morning 3 year ago this coming val day hence the name valentino they are still searching for the thing that did this to her the one that was responsible for rusty got cought he only did 6 month thats just the tip of the iceberg valentino was found in bristol me and jane went and laid some flowers in mem of all greys that have lost their life in one way or another at an old race track year befor last in mem of them all round the world
