This is not the face of Spain that the Spanish people want to show the world, but this is the face of Spain which the galgueros show to the world. Sickening, senseless death and injury caused by irresponsible hunters who take no responsibility for the misery they cause. And now the streets, refuges and killing stations are overflowing with abandoned galgos, in their hundreds every week, across Spain. Only the other day I heard that some galgos had been hung in Murcia. Please publicise the problem far and wide; one day we have to shame Spain to take action to stop it.

NB Some of the headings to my posts might seem obscure, but I am after the search engines finding Galgo News when people are searching for holidays in Spain – to reach out to people who aren’t aware of the annual holocaust for the hunting dogs of Spain. Hopefully we might turn some away!

Hi Kim
Thats my aim, reaching people who are looking for
holidays in Spain and the Spanish Islands. Have you seen the story on
Podenco Post about the 3 podencos surviving around a campsite on Gran
Canaria?
Thinking about you coping at the kennels, with the
snow and freezing weather. Weve got snow and freezing here, -10 degrees
last night.

Very pleased to report our top notch experience with Spain tours. We had to scamble to find a tour to Spain on New Years Eve when our original tour operator cancelled trip. We then found http://www.privatetoursinistanbul.com online. They were very responsive in emails to arrange a substitute plan for us to have a private guide/driver who picked us up at our hotel, gave us a brief overview of Madrid as we drove to Spain, and then an excellent tour of Toledo. He made several stops with us, tailored to our interests, took us to a few spots typical tour bus would not go to. Excellent and less expensive than some our private tours we and our hotel concierge had found.
Bet your guide didn’t take you to the galgo graveyard, dozens of bodies just dumped; nor the back streets where the starving abandoned dogs cringe waiting in the hope of a scrap being thrown to them from tourists and locals alike enjoying the pavement society on full stomachs. You didn’t see the real Toledo. Maybe after reading here what goes on in the real Spain, you won’t take your hard earned cash to put in the pockets of the animal abusers.
