Cuenca Dog Pound – Urgent appeal – 100 dogs need saving

Urgent appeal to save the lives of 100 dogs. Oscar writes from Cuenca;

‘Milagros from the Cuenca Dog Pound just informed me that the Inspection has been at the pound and that they “counted” 100 dogs too many. Therefore it is extremely urgent to get 100 (ONE HUNDRED) dogs out of there. Please could you notify ANY dog shelters, fosterplaces, whomever. The dogs are chipped, vacunated against rabies and are FREE OF CHARGE, they do not cost anything = 0.00 € !!
The only thing to pay for is the transport wherever. Please help me to spread this awful news around. THANKS

    As you say, Jen, since the authorities wont accept responsibility for the mass overbreeding of dogs and cats – through lack of educating people to neuter their animals – then they shouldnt penalise the brave souls who pick up the pieces, the volunteers at the blunt end who try and save the innocent souls. Fingers crossed for all involved. Thanks for caring. Beryl

    Even if the current situation seems to be hopeless, I can tell you that for example in Hungary there were and still are many strays but the society as well as the government started to rethink the issue and the bylaws regarding animals are tightened, and they also started to enforce them… It is a slow process but it is going forward towards a better situation for the animals.
    I wish the same for Spain.
    Have you heard anything about the Cuenca dogs since?
