EU Money wasted in Spain! Classes in schools on hunting!

I’ve received the following from Mieke van Erp, to share with you. Many rescue associations are already up in arms about it.

‘This is where the money goes from The EU! There is checked in Spain and it is true but there are very few schools who want to learn the children how to hunt. So the money goes to the galgueros! I am copying some recent news about the other Spanish mafia (the other being the bullfighting one), the hunting fraternity, which will shock you I´m sure. This comes again from the unspeakable Junta de Castilla y Léon where they hold, among many other horrors, the Toro de la Vega and where the PSOE (political party from the left, not that it makes any difference) wants to subsidize all blood fiestas, this when people in Spain are going hungry and losing their homes in a fast downward economic spiral to hell.

The government will give 303.000 euros to schools to teach children between the ages of 7 and 12 to hunt. The program is entitled “Hunter for a Day” and it will teach why hunting is necessary and show them how is down in a practical manner. As the use of firearms by children is forbidden for the under 14 years of age, one wonders how they will accomplish that.

Santiago Itumendi, speaking for the Hunting Federation laments the growing lack of interest in hunting among the young and deplores the culture that portrays the deer as good (Bambi) and the hunters as bad.

I would ask everyone to write to the Spanish embassy attaching the article and asking how, in these moments of extreme financial hardship for their people, there is money to promote hunting to the children and how teaching young children how to kill can improve society.’

WEAPONS IN THE HANDS OF MINORS

———-

The campaign aims to give lectures in schools and practice days. This involves contact with the weapons entering a contradiction between the legislation that regulates the use of weapons at the state level and the Board.
The Royal Decree 137/1993 specifies that minors may use with a special authorisation issued by the Civil Guard, hunting rifles once 14 years and accompanied by an adult
