The hunters continue to deny that they kill their dogs when they have no more use for them. I have seen wells in from which live galgos have been rescued…here’s the story of another one rescue alive, but others which were not so lucky. Again, this is an Internet translation, no time to correct the grammar, but you will understand the story!
A live galgo was rescued from this well, along with the remains of other dead dogs, which were put into bags and carried a locator chip that allowed the agents to identify the owner of the dogs through the College of Veterinary Surgeons , who certified the animal rescued and the remains of one that appeared in the bag belonged to same owner.
Forest Rangers and Fire Madrid have rescued alive a galgo that was thrown into a pit of more than eight feet deep, in the Camino de Los Villares, in the municipality of Villarejo of Salvanés .
As reported by the Community, the rescue was prompted a neighbor to give notice to your 112 Emergency , what caused the fire will move to the place to try to bring to the surface the animal, which was inside the well, crushed by a tree and a tyre .
One of the firefighters had to climb down to free the Greyhound and out of the pit, at the bottom is also located two bags with remains of bones that may belong to other dogs.
From that moment, forest officials filed a complaint with the court number one Arganda del Rey, which extends a previous Municipal Police of Salvanés Villarejo, if the facts may constitute a crime of animal abuse .
It also made the corresponding administrative complaints before the Animal Protection Area Community of Madrid.
Currently, the galgo rescued alive has been adopted by the neighbor who alerted the emergency center of Madrid, 112.
As reported by forest officials in the region are frequent cases of dogs abandoned or killed when they are no longer considered useful for hunting, or just less effective than younger individuals.
From the Department of Justice Presidency and warning citizens of commitment is gained when someone take care of an animal, and call it, if for various reasons, can not take care of it, should be contacted specialized agency in the adoption of animals but never abandon or sacrifice.

As I see this year is not better than the previous ones has been. Same hunting season, same cruelty.
But at least a dog friendly neighbor appeared to rescue that poor dog…
After whole Europe has fallen for the galgos, Spanish people start adopting them. This is a small piece of good news in the big piece of bad news.
i dont expect anyother from the galgos owners they dont give a shit just as long as they get rid they make me sick
You are right Tunde, this year has been as bad as ever. On a positive side, there are not so many dogs hung as there were when I first got involved in the plight of the galgo 6 years ago. So the hunters know what bad press they get Internationally. But we have to keep fighting, otherwise there is no chance of any change. We won’t get anywhere without hope. Thanks for caring and commenting, as always.
