In the UK, my first greyhound – a stray who turned up from nowhere and put her feet firmly under the table – became a very popular PAT dog – that’s Pets As Therapy. Molly and I used to visit a retirement home where the residents enjoyed talking about the dogs they had owned, and sharing their birthday cake with her. It’s not a scheme which operates very much where I now live in France, sadly.
