Two pieces of news, which came up whilst I was stuck in the UK with hardly any computer contact.
Gala is a beautiful young galga found in a field in Andalucia with two deliberately badly broken legs – the left front and the left back – so she could not possibly get up and walk anywhere. Left by some bastard Spanish hunter to die a long and lingering and painful death. Luckily she was discovered and El Amparo took her to their vet where their vet operated on her to pin her legs back together again. Here are some before photos, and an incredible after video where she is walking with her legs splinted.
The second story is yet another sickening one. A galgo somehow found itself on the Madrid Metro. It was chased in terror onto the rail lines where it was hit and badly injured – but not killed – by a train. The Metro authorities refused to let anyone go and rescue it – screaming in pain – but two women ignored them and went to the poor dog, although they were not able to save its life. Question – who the hell took a galgo down onto the Madrid Metro?!!
Gala again – remember, some bastard did this deliberately – and it happens often at this time of year….
(Apologies that I was mis-informed originally as to who has Gala – no fault of Scooby)

they are all evil scum like i have said befor if animal abuse stoped tomorrow its still unforgiveable for what they have already done soooooo many little inocent babies lost their life how can you forgive that they dont onley take the life of these lost souls but take a part of us with them each time i did put a little through to scooby earlier this week bless her
that poor little baby i cant even think of words to describe the hunters at this moment that leave them in this state and worse still cause these horrifick injuries
its a bleeding miricle just seen vidio
Evil scumy bastards i hope they die a really slow death who ever done this to those galgos.
Hunters like this give the others a bad name, although I do not believe in using dogs for any hunting, some here in my area do look after their dogs.
Well done Scooby for helping, sorry I can’t help financially but things are tight as we have so many dogs being dumped at the moment, including 11 one week old pups, sadly 6 were dead when found. This together with vet bills for my 10 dogs and 4 cats is leaving us broke.
Run Free sweet Metro baby xx
I think it would already be a big improvement, when the Spanish Galgo Hunters’ Federation (or whatever they are called) would at least TRY to help cleaning up the mess.
But my latest news from them is that they try to conceal the dark side of the galgo business.
It is especially sad as they could help the galgos much if they only TRIED.
Same for the king of Spain (who is also a hobby-galguero as far as I know).
Sad state of affairs. Sad state of quality, indeed.
What I do not understand: someone thanks under this video a Viktor! It was obviously NOT uploaded by Scooby!
PLEASE NOTIFY FERMIN IMMEDIATELY AS THIS VIKTOR IS NOT WHAT SCOOBY SHOULD BE ASSOCIATED WITH!!!!!

Note that under the YouTube video someone already thanks this Viktor for rescuing the galga.
The guy is well known in Canada already for bullying and similar…
BE CAREFUL!!!
Google him!
And now read this, here is Scooby’s poor galga featured!

I had it from Cobie that Scooby has the galga…maybe the person who took
the video belongs to the vet clinic.
I am waiting on confirmation from Fermin at Scooby but I am pretty sure that this dog is NOT at Scooby. Not sure where the misinformation came from. I will confirm as soon as I know more.

Thanks Eva, look forward to the
update.
Ah and I was already sure that Larkhill is collecting money for a galga that is not even his…
But then he might be collecting money for his own animal.
So let’s see whose galga Gala is.
Beryl, it’s confirmed… this dog is NOT with Scooby. Please update on your blog as we have been getting donations for her and we should not because she is not in our care. Not sure where the misinformation came from.

Super then all my comments regarding Larkhill can be happily deleted from this blog!
YOU ASK YOURSELF WHY GOD BLESS YOU AND ALL OF YOUR KIND.

I have found the blog of the person who writes about Gala; he is Spanish but lives in Turkey. He doesn’t say where Gala is. I have found an email address of an English speaker in Spain, so have asked for the correct information
This is the information I have about Gala. I have asked to be updated.
El Amparo del Sur is an animal charity domiciled in Arahal (Sevilla). It in fact consists of 5 women, and has no other members or income other than what it receives for special cases like Gala.
Gala was rescued by El Amparo del Sur (El Amparo for short), and Let’s Adopt España offered to help with her expenses, which were clearly going to be high. They have done so, and thanks to Let’s Adopt España she underwent surgery in one of the best trauma clinics in Seville.
Gala still belongs to El Amparo, however, and we will be caring for her on her long path to recovery after the surgery. No other animal charity has been involved in her care, although we have received donations from many individuals.

Galga Gala is El Amparo del Sud, a small charity near Seville. This is their Facebook page

Let’s Go Global (Let’s Adopt Espana)have been asking for donations for her, but pease send donations only to El Amparo.
