IU Joan Josep Nuet MP denounced violence and the deaths of sighthounds which increases after the season of hunting and, in this context, has formulated a written question to the Government know if it takes concrete steps.

The MP, Member of the Parliamentary Association for the defense of animals, explained that it is more and more frequent, at the end of the season, that there appears a “lot of galgos abandoned or killed by their owners.

He deplores that, once a galgo has completed its “life expectancy” with a galguero, “not only that the death and torture of these, but the way and agriculture which made the miserable life and living conditions.

Therefore, he asks for a general plan to develop legislative measures in order to avoid situations of mistreatment of animals, in particular suffered by dogs, and whether it will take measures with the hunters. In addition, he also explores written above if there is no specific census the number of greyhounds found dead or abandoned, reported to the competent authorities.

Estimado Señor

Apoyo su iniciativa y escrito pregunta al Gobierno español que toma medidas concretas para detener el abandono masivo de perros de caza al final de cada temporada, su tortura y asesinato y las deplorables condiciones en que la mayoría de ellos se ven obligada a vivir una vida corta.

Por favor, continúen luchar para traer cambios en la situación tan pronto como sea posible, especialmente para que las federaciones de caza controlar la cría masiva de perros de caza, aplicar registro, detener el abandono total cada año.

Durante el año 2012/2013 sobre 100.000 galgos han sido abandonados o en perreras matarán. Se estima que 50.000 podencos sufren la misma suerte.

Se trata de la vergüenza de España, que el mundo ve. Muy triste para un país tan hermoso.

I support your initiative and written question to the Spanish government that it takes concrete steps to stop the mass abandonment of hunting dogs at the end of every season, their torture and killing, and the deplorable conditions in which most of them are forced to live their short lives.

Please continue to fight to bring changes to the situation as soon as possible, especially for the hunting federations to control the mass breeding of hunting dogs, enforce registration, stop the mass abandonment every year.

During the year 2012/2013 over 100,000 galgos have been abandoned or dumped in perreras to be killed. It is estimated that 50,000 podencos suffer the same fate.

This is the Shame of Spain which the world sees. Very sad for such a beautiful country.
