We have decided to adopt Polar. My French vet is marvellous at putting dogs back together; she did a superb job on my little Podenca Andaluz Bebe, who arrived from Seville with a bad back leg injury. Jane and Alan at Pepis have dozens of dogs to care for. This winter has been particularly hard for them with mudslides through the kennels on two occasions, loss of Internet for many weeks, and Alan ill. Add to this the number of dogs and puppies still being dumped at their gates – even though the sign says in Spanish ‘no dogs, we are full’, and the last thing they need is a puppy in convalescence.
I am now organising transport for Polar and I will be starting a ‘Polar’s Diary’ on Galgo News so you can all follow his story as he grows and has operations to help his leg grow with him. Thank you to those who have donated towards Polar; these will be used to feed him until he travels here.
Pepis have dozens of dogs to feed, some needing medication. They rely solely on donations, please help them. Adopt a dog from them, they are all beautiful, and there are several stunning galgos. Spend a holiday with them, helping in the shelter and walking the dogs. It’s all on their website.

Beryl, that is fantastic news! That is great for Polar, what a wonderful thing you are doing. I am sorting out my Gracie photos and will be emailing them, along with a donation to Pepi’s. I am really looking forward to reading ‘Polar’s diary’.
