This photo is actually a still from a video showing dozens of hunting dogs including podencos tied on short chains to a field plough and pulled behind either a tractor or Land Cruiser type vehicle. Some of the dogs are trying to jump out, barking, howling…it’s unbelievable. The video is currently only available on facebook so I have asked that it be uploaded onto Youtube and then I can link to it for you all to see the horror! I don’t have details of when and where it was taken, have asked those questions too.

you know most of these hunters are not right in their sodding heads how would they feel getting dragged behind a vehicle against their will terrified going to end up getting seriously injured or even worse sort your brains out you annoy me
Now watch the video, Jen, you wont believe what you are seeing!!!

I try not to post the really dreadful photos because I dont want people to turn away from reading Galgo News and Podenco Post and I bear in mind that many of the stories upset people. For 6 years now I have been reporting what happens to the galgos and podencos in Spain and I have sat at my computer many a time and wept tears for the pain the dogs go through – all so unnecessary. And Im just reporting – the emotional and physical strength of the volunteers who actually deal with all these cases overwhelms me. They are indeed angels on earth.
Makes me wonder just how low these people can get with the way they treat these beautiful dogs.
Heartbreaking to see the pic, but need to know what’s happening in an attempt to try and stop it.
Unbelievable! Words just can’t ever truly describe what these dogs go through each and every day. I totally agree, Beryl, the rescuers are awesome – I take my hat off to them all for what they do over there. It’s heartbreaking to think that for every precious soul saved there are probably quite literally, hundreds dying.
