In the last couple of months galgos have arrived at the finca desperately needing expensive operations and medical treatment. First there was Dante needing a leg operation; then Happy with no fur and swollen legs – a serious case of mange; then Kenya arrived with a deformed foreleg which previous operations had not repaired. Vet bills for these hounds alone run into four figures.
Add to that feeding all the dogs, microchip and vaccinations to prepare the dogs for adoption…money goes out faster than it comes in.

Kenya –
Charl says ‘Her surgery has been an attempt to fix her leg which is broken and so far been unable to be fixed after 3 surgeries. Shes come to us for Specialist surgery and an attempt to save her leg.
At the moment she has 2 injury sites. One where by the surgery was previously performed and one higher. From inside the bone on the shoulder cells were taken and placed into the operated bone. Thus to rejuvenate the growth. A pin has been placed upwards. This is to join and stabilise the breakage. In 2 weeks’ time she will have another surgery where screws will go in to fuse the bone together.
Her recovery is light walking on the lead. Pain relief and antibiotics. So praying this works for her. She needs her leg and this is an attempt to save it.
If you somehow can help us wirh Kenya’s surgery my gratitude would be endless. Through your donations you keep us going and it’s an immense help. It’s the only way we exist in helping these poor souls. Several surgeries on the cards at the moment and the pressure i’s well and truly on. But we dont stop and look the other way for they need us. I will be having a good look at the auction and I am sure I will find lovely items to bid on. I had a successful bid last time on a lovely collar for my greyhound, Smudge. He looks ever so handome in it! I hope everyone has a look at this and supports Charl, she does a wonderful job with the galgos.
