More than 50 galgos have been rescued, including two litters of puppies, living in a garbage dump in Ontigola, Madrid province, covered in wounds, scabies and terrified. Thanks to a neighbour who denounced the situation, 6 rescue associations have taken the dogs. It took all afternoon to catch them and transport them to safety. They all need vet care, medication, blood analyses, castrations. Then they have to be rehabilitated in preparation for adoption.

Will this never end???? The cruelty is just beyond believe. Without the care and passion of devoted volunteers the situation for these wonderful hounds would just be so much worse. Cannot praise them enough for the work that they do – they are very special people
I do remember the story of Lolita the galga who sos galgos rescued another sweet little angel who was broken but turned out ok for her in the end poor soul was frightened to death she had been dragged behind a vehicle her leg was broke both paws at the bottom tethered and a bag of bones another 2 poor souls the remains of with nooses in sight not so lucky its so upsetting I will be donating to sos in the next 2 weeks they have some beautiful galgo s in their care
