Your support is needed. Here’s the storyfrom Levriers sans Frontieres, translated by Danielle Hart, who translated my galgo book into French.
A French woman has 2 galgos and a Dogue argentin (not sure what they are called in English, Mastiffs maybe?) named Elias? She wanted to adopt a third galgo and decided to have Elias euthanized to make room for the new galgo! He was only 6 years old and she had had him since he was a puppy.
There’s a petition circulating to try and make sure that she cannot own any dogs for life and they are asking for sanctions against the vet as well. Petition link again.
LSF is also trying to get back the 2 galgos she now has, because they figure that if she falls in love with another breed and decides to change, she may very well have the galgos euthanized!

its saying web page cannot be found so this is a French galgo rescue well to me I think their case is won I think they shuld go and get the 2 galgos rescues are a no kill policy anyone going against that especially when they have dogs from a rescue are breeching their contract for a start these 2 galgos need pulling out asap as you say she could fall in love with another breed its like me I have a dally and would love to have another galgo or podenco but I am not going to march him to the vet to put him to sleep to make room I will simply have to wait until timing is perfect

I’m with Jenny they should just go in and rescue the 2 galgos as they are far from safe with this person!

Signed and commented. The dogs should be taken off her. What a heartless individual. The vet is clearly of the same ilk. A dog is for life and people who have no intention of caring for their pet for the whole of its natural life should not have one in the first place. Horrible woman and poor Elias, how can she live with herself? Some people are just so very selfish and have limited feelings and conscience unfortunately.
