PACMA demand talks with the DG of the Civil Guard about abuse and abandonment of hunting dogs in Spain

PACMA have the following update on the situation of the 32 dogs found dead at Badajoz.

‘We have requested an urgent meeting with the Director General of the Civil Guard to address the problem of the systematic abuse and abandonment of dogs used in hunting, who live in deplorable conditions and suffer especially during the summer.

We are doing so after learning, just a few days ago, of the starvation death of a pack of 32 dogs in Azuaga (Badajoz). We travelled to learn firsthand what happened and to ask the City Council to make a public statement and to take part in the case (watch the video here).

The exclusion of hunting dogs from the Animal Protection Act of 2023 has left them in a situation of extreme vulnerability, and we must mobilize to avoid the consequences of this legal neglect they suffer.

We will not stop until we achieve justice for these 32 dogs. We will not stop until everyone knows what hunting really means to animals.

To continue promoting social and legal actions, putting pressure on institutions, and exposing the cruelty that attempts to be hidden, we need your support.’
