Candy Cane Rescue International
Candy’s Hound Rescue International is a rescue that was set up 6 years ago to help Greyhounds from the dog meat trade in China. Our founder Kerry, who runs a UK based Greyhound rescue, (Greyhound Protection UK) was made aware of ex Racing greyhounds being exported to mainland China 🇨🇳 for breeding. A whole can of worms was then opened.
After being laughed at and dismissed about the fact Greyhounds were in the dog meat trade, Kerry did in fact find many many Greyhounds and sighthounds in the dog meat trade. Many were from Ireland and England.
After then reaching out to Doe Doe, a Chinese lady working to help the dogs, a friendship was built.
First, Kerry started taking hounds under the UK rescue, but when a whippet cross named Candy was due to travel to the UK was killed in kennels the night before her flight, Kerry decided she wanted to do more. -

Galgos 112 rescue 2 galgos from a reservoir
2 starving galgos luckily rescued by volunteers with Galgos 112. Here’s the story.‘Look at the state in which these two puppies were rescued in a watering raft, damn rafts with no exit ramps where hundreds of animals die.
To our little ones we do not know if they were thrown in or fell looking for water. What we do know is that if they had not been rescued, today they would be dead.
And abdolutely nothing would happen either to change things in Spain, two deaths more to add to the thousands of deaths that matter very little or nothing to the government and certain sectors of this society.

Galgos Rescue Almeria catching an injured galgo
FromSandy at Galgos Rescue Almeria
This is Milagro who we caught a few days ago, with a badly injured leg.
This sweet girl has already had to endure so much in her life. Unfortunately, the traumatologist was unable to perform the full surgical procedure. During the surgery, he discovered something that made placing a plate impossible at this time. A special longer plate is going to have to be designed for Milagro so that the whole area can be fully protected and recover properly. Yesterday, a tendon was ruptured so her leg is back straight. Medication has been prescribed and the bandage should be changed in a week.
New traumatologist appointment in 2 weeks. For a full recovery for the next few months, Milagro will be taken care of in a home environment.
You can support our dogs for 1€ a month by joining our teaming group. Please help, as the vet fees will be expensive.

Network for Animals & Galgos del Sur – saving 32 Cordoba galgos
The shockingly cruel treatment of Spanish greyhounds (Galgos) must be stopped in Spain. Will you stand with us today?
The sport hunting industry is full of cruel practices and a callous disregard for animal welfare.
We offer a glimmer of hope and relief to these terrified, injured and stressed animals.
32 hunting dogs were rescued from a nightmarish existence in a decrepit farmhouse. Many others like them desperately need your help. Chained, starving, and wounded, they have endured unspeakable suffering in appalling conditions. We’re partnering with Galgos de Sur, a dedicated organization committed to confiscating, protecting, rehabilitating, and finding good forever homes for these abused hunting dogs. We are asking for your compassion today. Please support our crucial mission and help us end this disgraceful behaviour.
