  • Spain – 25 abandoned dogs die in Badajoz province!

    Galgos 112 25 dogs die 400
    From Galgos112

‘This would quickly end with good control by rural and police officers and exemplary prison sentences.
But in this country we go back like crabs and abuse and murder comes out very cheap. This rabble are murderers!’

18 months’ prison sentence…a farce…the judge was probably a hunter too!

Badajoz, Extramadura, is especially a hellhole for hunting dogs!

  • Galgos112 – abandoned Benjamin finally safe

    Galgos112 Ben 400 8 2020
    From Galgos112.

‘Good luck arrived for Benjamin (Ben) and he still doesn’t know it. He went to a bar area and terraces looking for food, people threw him out of there but hunger was stronger than fear, he came back again and again. Marta was having dinner at the pizza place and she saw him and she didn’t stop until she got him.

Ben is a big and good galgo, very quiet. Without fear of people. He was covered in ticks and other parasites, and on the left side of his neck he has a wound that looks like his chip was removed.

Ben, your life has changed and as soon as you have a family that adopts you, you’ll realize how lucky you’ve been.

This is a new arrival at the GRA shelter, brought in off the street, ears in a poor state and hard skin all over the bony parts of her body. But a happy soul. She has now been to the vet for a check over, no fever, heart and lungs were fine and she tested negative for Leish / Erlichia / Filaria / Anaplasma. She’s also now chipped and vaccinated, 24 August she will get spayed.
Many thanks to HAA for covering her Veterinary costs.

  • 2 Scooby Galgos living happily in Italy

    Marta Maui's arrival 400 8 2020
It’s lovely to have a happy rehoming story to publish, I hope you enjoy reading the story of Chiry and Maui.

‘I am Marta Pedrali, I read all your articles since I adopted a galgo. I adopted a beautiful black and white galgo two years ago and a brown one last year. I love them so much and I do not understand why people treat them in those ways in Spain and in other parts of the world. For this reason, I share my story, my daily life with my special galgos through a Facebook page called “Chiry the galgo & Maui” in order to make people understand how amazing life is with them and how sweet they are. I also volunteer in an Italian association that homes them, its name is “Progetto Galgo Onlus”, we are in the province of Bergamo, Italy.

Paolo and I (Marta) are a couple that the 30th June of 2018 adopted, for the first time, a black and white galgo named Chiry. We adopted Chiry with the help of an Italian association called “Progetto Galgo Onlus”. Chiry comes from Protectora Scooby Medina in Spain. I chose him (it is a “he”) personally, after looking at the website of Protectora Scooby. On their database are plenty of dogs, I couldn’t choose at the beginning. But, when I noticed a photo with that face so sad and frightened, he caught my eyes and it didn’t take a long for me to understand that it was him, Chiry, that I would have surely adopted! Now, two beautiful and intensive years have been passed since that hot afternoon when Chiry came to us.
