‘I have a sanctuary for oldies but recently I found a dumped galga, highly pregnant and same night mummie delivered 5 gorgeous babies. Unfortunately mum was so severely abused that she passed away and I had to raise them on my own.

2nd October – Black Galgo Day – 3 terrified black galgos at Scooby needing understanding homes
From Cobie at Scooby Residencia Valladolid‘2nd October was black galgo day. Well, in Scooby we have lots of them. These 3, and they are terrified. They prefer not to look at you because they hope that you´re not really there. They were not born like this, they were born as normal dogs but with abnormal owners. They have turned into nocturnal dogs, only come out at night to eat and take some fresh air, but the day they spend in their doghouse where they feel safe with the others and don´t have to face the cruel world in which they think they live.
This is how they become when they never get love or a friendly word, a compliment, a nice belly rub or good food when they are hungry. No, they only get a big mouth, loud and angry voices, abuse, hunger, mistreatment and in the end, when not killed, they are left to their fate, in the field, a perrera or a shelter and that´s fatal for a sensitive dog like a galgo.
But at least they´re safe in Scooby now and we´ll do anything to make them ¨whole¨again.
Churo, Zarito and Fawini.
Contact Scooby if you can offer a forever home to one of these innocent souls.

Protectora Scooby de Medina – experienced homes needed for fearful galgos
From Cobie at Protectora Scooby
‘In Scooby Medina:
Luckily, more and more people are deciding to give a galgo a home, but generally people are looking for “perfect” galgos. Handsome, that they get along with other dogs and cats and that they are not afraid.
There are many galgos, like Hava, who are fearful or shy, but it is only until they are in a quiet place and little by little they trust those people they see every day and see that they are not going to hurt them.
These galgos also deserve a family that loves them and a comfortable home and they need it more than the other ones, since they have a bit of a hard time in the shelter. If you want to adopt Hava or some other shy galguito (there are many waiting), send us an email to internationaladoptions@scoobymedina.org

My galga Carmela was 4 years old when she came to me, terrified of being in the house. It took 2 1/2 years for her to become a ‘normal’ dog, helped by her buddy Sahara who did not have any fear.

4 galgo puppies dumped by a rubbish bin. Protectora Scooby have them safe.
Four babies, galgos, abandoned inside a box and next to a rubbish bin. Because that is what animals are to some despicable beings, things that if they are not worth are thrown away. It is seen that the breeder kept the females of the litter, which are more sought after in the galguero world, and throw the males because they are not worth keeping.
If you want to give one of them a home, send us an email to internationaladoptions@scoobymedina.org
