Galga Ari has been saved by Galgo Astur, sadly one pup died. Latest photo of her after rescue is below. And this poor boy is Messi, look at the wounds on his body. Needs patience and lots of care. Costs involved in saving him are low, 50 euros chip and vaccine and 3 euros/day for him in residence until an association can take him. We tend to forget, sometimes, that the Canary Islands are also a part of Spain. Podencos are the main hunting dogs there and they suffer just as much as the galgos on mainland Spain. Here are two stories about podencos on Tenerife. If you or anyone you know are going on holiday to the Canary Islands, there are details of the animal rescue associations on this page.
