Remember the story of the hunter in Toledo who hung two of his galgos? Asociacion Baas Galgo and their lawyer pursued the matter through the court. The defendant claimed ‘he didn’t know it was an offence to hang his dogs’. He was sentenced to 7 months in prison and banned from keeping dogs for 2 years. This is a link to the news report. Bebe’s Boutique – raising funds for galgos and podencos – dolls
All the items on this page are hand made by a disabled friend and are for sale to raise funds for appeals for help with dog food and vet fees etc on Galgo News and Podenco Post.
The beautiful knitted dolls range in size from knitted animals 7″ to 10″/26cm to 15″/38cm.
Prices range from 7.50 euros £5.00 for the small animals to 25 euros £22 for the larger dolls, which includes Cinderella – a double doll – Cinders in yellow dress, turn her upside down and Cinderella in blue is dressed for the ball!
Postage prices are between 6-8 euros to Europe inc UK.

Happy 9th Birthday – Galgo Rey!
This is Rey a King among Galgos. Charl wrote a poem in tribute to him. Many of you will know Jennifer, always ready to comment on my posts. She adopted Rey.
She’s a wonderful supporter of the hounds – car boot sales every week to raise funds for the dogs, raffled hampers at Xmas – her fundraising never ceases. She’s a lady who says it as it is – no problem with that. So I’m pleased to publish here her tribute to her adored galgo Rey, adopted from 112carlotagalgos.
Hip Hip Hooray – Rey is 9 years young today! Never thought I’d make it this far but thanks to my rescuers and thanks to Jen, I’ve been given a chance to live again.
SO, Mr Hunter – watch this space – I’m happy and loved, so in your face!

One small step – one giant step – Scooby Medina leading the way
Giving a dignified end to the life of an animal after the cycle of sport.
This is the idea behind the collaboration between Animal shelter Scooby in Medina del Campo and the Federación Espanola de Galgos in Castilla y León after 5 months of negociation. On 12 December 2013 they came to an agreement by which the FEG for the first time promised to intensify the fight against the mistreatment and abandonment of galgos. Two groups which have so different intentions, have now a written and signed convenant only with the intention to understand the animals and to give them another life after their hunting years.

Cost of shipping a small paperback book from the US to France
I’ve been quoted $23+ for someone to send me a small paperback book – less than 310gms – which is ludicrous when it costs me less than 4 euros to send one of my FH2H books to the US. I think someone is taking the p..s! Information please on the cheapest way for this book to be posted to me – I won it in an auction. In euro terms – that’s just short of 18 euros! He must be joking!
