    Bebe  250  08 2011 This little galgo pup was rescued from a rubbish bin in Seville. She is about 2 months old, has been named Bebe and is now in a special shelter for puppies, costing 4 euros/day. Help is now needed to find this little girl a foster and adoption home.   • No Voice No Choice, 6th August, Chertsey, UK – support Galgo News/Podenco Post Stand,

    As I am due to go into hospital next week for a shoulder operation and will be unable to drive etc for at least 6 weeks, Kim Webster has kindly offered to organise a stand for me at No Voice No Choice, a huge animal event being held at Chertsey, Surrey, on 6th August.

    We want to give as much publicity as possible about the plight of the beautiful galgos and podencos who suffer so much at the hands of the Spanish hunters, whether on mainland Spain or the Spanish Islands.

  • Rufo & Ken, two galgos with Galgo Connection Spain – seeking their forever homes

    Rufo eye infec pup -4 190 This little chap has been named Rufo. He was found abandoned, suffering from a serious eye infection which rendered him blind. He was rescued and taken into the caring hands of Silvia of Galgo Connection Spain. His eye infection has been treated, his eyes are much improved – as you can see from these photos – although he is still receiving medication to clear the infection completely. Now he needs his forever home.

  • Dumped in a rubbish bin – Spanish galga Esperanza’s fight for life

    Esperanza in surgery 250 08 05 2011 Latest update on Esperanza, the galga some bastard tried to kill and dumped in a rubbish bin. What an amazing fighter she is, hanging onto life, and what an amazing team of people are helping her.

    ‘Esperanza’s surgery has finished. She is alive but she needs intensive care. Surgery has not been easy. Vets put needles and surgical cement to rebuild her broken vertebra. There is reserved prognosis, at least, until a couple of days, because her life is still in danger. Her health condition is delicate. If everything is OK, a new period of ten days will start.

A young woman has been feeding her, managed to get a collar on her, but she needs somewhere to go as the woman has too many animals already in her small appartment.   • Art Auction in aid of the galgos – 6 – 16th May – please support

    Log kunstengalgos Holland 250 Please support this Auction for the galgos and podencos. It starts on Friday,6th May 2011 at 1200 and runs until 16th May 2011 at 1800. There are several organizations who have donated art for the auction. Greyhound Friends, Galgovrienden, Straydogs from Belgium, Residencia Scooby in Valladolid (Spain) and probably Greyhound Foundation. There are more than 60 items for the auction, from cheap to expensive art so something for everybody.

    ‘We’ve been really busy working on the DDAWatch/Company of Animals ‘No Voice No Choice’ event coming up on August 6th in Surrey. I thought I’d better catch up with you all and invite you to have a stall (rescue and good causes can book a place for free) and if you can’t hold a stall on the day you’re most welcome to attend with or without your dogs, it’s also free entry to the public with plenty of car parking.
