This is the harsh reality for dogs dumped in the municipal and private perreras – killing stations. It’s any dog which suffers like this, not just the galgos. But for the galgos, it’s simply that hunting is drawing to a close and the galgueros are dumping their dogs. These dogs are/were in the perrera El Paraiso at Malaga (some have already been killed). Vera describes.
‘5 days ago I circulated about these galgos (Galgo News didn’t receive it) and now another 5 days going by, makes about 10 days without any success, no interest in these poor galgos. Today (11/1/2012) I’m back to the perrera to take more picture. There are two who have died or been euthanized already. If we wait, the remaining ones will suffer the same fate. I could save them if I had the financial resources.
The ones which are gone are the white with black spots, beautiful and young, and a white, also beautiful and young.
These remaining three are:
Clearly striped with light eyes is male is only 1 year. All its life ahead.
The cream is about 2 years.Female. Set in the face of sadness
The brindle, female, is also only 2 years old.
And they are getting thinner and thinner each day.
Please, let us not allow these 3 also die!

for Gods sake someone please help save these dogs + so many more like them, + how how how can we stop it happening every yr. with this bloody hunting, there has to be a way to bring it far more forcefully to the attention of the public + the media, T.V, news papers, in spain-U.K, anywhere, the more people know maybe more with the re-souses that most people just don’t have will come forward to help, I would take the 3 of them if I didn’t already have 4 spanish ‘throw out’ hunting dogs + 1 extra collie type, but just can’t take anymore now back home in uk in normal size house + ‘bog standard’ garden, 5 quite a handful for us,PLEASE SOMEONE HELP THEM!!!!

they have already been rescued by galgosenfamilia meanwhile, who ask for donations for them now in order to pay their accommodation (see posts above).
And yes, it is so sad seeing those galgos suffer and die, just because the galgueros in Spain breed them for hunting and throw them away when they don`t need them any more…more than 50.000 per year !
And there is no law in Spain to stop them…!
