Cordoba pregnant galga, saved, with her six puppies – forever homes needed
Do you remember the story of the very pregnant galga, loose on the streets of Cordoba, rescuers vainly trying to catch her before she got injured. Well, we’ve got good news.
Look at the link below in facebook which was sent to me by a very good friend, Ainara. I am sorry it is in Spanish…but you can see the photos of where she had her puppies…Thanks to the fact she hid, Arca de Noe of Cordoba could rescue them. Well done for all the volunteers who participated for so long in trying to rescue her!

Urgent message for anyone in the Osun, Seville area – or anywhere!!! These are 9 galgo puppies existing in a railway yard at the side of a road – the gitanos (gypsies) are hovering. There is no sign of their mother. They need to be lifted to safety to foster homes for adoption. It is extremely urgent, hunting is due to start shortly.

Update on the Cordoba galga
This is the latest news about the pregnant galga loose in Cordoba.
‘She has now given birth to 7 or 8 pups. We have not caught her yet, it takes a lot of people, and a lot of good luck. We need to bring together many volunteers, so far in groups of w, 3 or 4, but still we need a larger team. The fact is that she is very clever and very fast. We don’t want any donations until we catch her, because if we fail in the end, then we will have to return the donations, and that is complicated.
Thank you very much, greetings, Miriam’
Fingers crossed for everyone involved.

Podenca Maria, injured and surviving on the streets of Seville
This little podenca is Maria, who was abandoned and has lived most of her life on the streets of a village near to Seville, too terrified to be caught. Searching for food amongst rubbish, dodging vehicles on the road, bearing puppies.
She was finally captured last month by an association ARCA, along with her 3 puppies. She has been hit twice by vehicles and has suffered a compression of the spinal cord which has resulted in a loss of feeling, and poor movement.

The Plight of the Galgo – Spain must act to stop this!
Some months ago, a lot of photos of galgos in Mairena were circulating on the Internet, including Galgo News. The information I had been given was that this was a killing station. It has since come to light that Mairena is in fact a perrera, ‘Protectora de Animales Y Plantas de Sevilla, which has contracts with city councils of cities and villages in the area, to retrieve abandoned dogs from the streets. Hunters also take their dogs there when hunting has finished.
This galga (who has been named Linda) gave birth to 10 puppies a couple of days ago, and all of them have been taken to Mairena. What sick person can do this. Look at the conditions in which she lies exhausted.
