Noah’s Arc appeal for funds to help Gisela, desperately needing care
This is an urgent appeal from the Noah’s Arc refuge in Murcia. This poor galga was rescued from ‘home care’, be prepared to shed a lot of tears when you watch the video. Please send a donation to the refuge to help pay for her care. For every euro donated, Morgan Stanley International bank will match it.

There are MANY MANY THOUSANDS of galgos out there at the moment, rescued and not, just like Gisela, fighting for life all over spain… Whats wrong with people, they have no shame. While there are galgueros out there destroying lives, thank God there are people, guardian angels who take the galgos they can and offer them light.. out from the darkest world only a galgo in Spain knows.
SHAME ON YOU GALGUERO!!!!!!!!!!

‘I do not like this message. Throughout our research project we were as
objective as possible and furthermore none of us have any ties with
either animal welfare or the racing industry. I therefore ask you not to
sent out your own subjective views’.I have replied as follows:

Moss – galgo x podenco – needs a forever home – are you his angel?
This is the story of a lurcher, (who looks very like a podenco) who is desperately looking for an understanding forever home.
Catherine tells his tale.
As a 4 month old pup Moss came to my village to live with B who had rescued him from Spain. He was one of a large litter whose mother a Galga, had given birth on the street. She didn’t survive. Moss is clearly crossed with the Spanish hunting Podenco, originally of Egypt. His enormous ears and the curious way he leap-frogs when he hunts gives him away as do many of the personality traits of this beautiful breed.

Kamal, King of the Galgos – the great survivor has died
Many of you will remember the story of Kamal, the amazing survivor of 11 years of hell in a Spanish refuge, rescued by Cristina, a volunteer with Perrikus, and rehomed in France. I am sad to report that he has died.He spent the last year of his life experiencing regular meals, walks in the park, a comfy bed and a lot of love. At 15 years of age, and with many health problems caused by his 11 years of hell, he survived against all odds to what is a natural life span for a sighthound.
I am sure many of you will know how Cristina and Bea of EDL feel at the loss of such a special galgo, but also happy that he lived to experience the last year of his life as a happy hound.

2 special dogs – sloughi x cano corso – need knowledgable homes
Two sighthound cross breeds are looking for a home. They are first generation Sloughi x Cane Corso. However their tattoos have them registered as crossbreeds, therefore they are not first category dogs and will not need special insurance or a behaviour exam.
They are 2 year old litter sisters named Carma (black dog) and Curcuma (brindle dog). Curcuma is the largest of the two (at around 50 kilos), Carma is smaller. They had no contact with the outside world for their first 2 years. Carma is very shy and relies on her sister for confidence. Curcuma is more confident than her sister and is described as a ‘big teddy bear’.
