This is an appeal from Gran Familia in Seville.
‘We have come to the limits of our physical capabilities for the summer. We know that
currently there are many urgent cases that we that we are unable to help because we have a multitude of expensse built up – vet fees, treatments, and we have to pay for kennels for the dogs as we have no shelter.
We have four residence with dogs in kennels which cost us 720 euros per month. Below are the dogs in them. This is a cry for help for them and for us, we need to feed the and treat them on a daily basis and of course people want to charge – both the kennels and the vet – and the debt gets larger.
We need to treat the dogs so that they finally have a chance later to escape from what they have already suffered, ere are some before and after photos, these dogs really have earned their forever homes.
Luisa and Julia, Luisa rescued from starvation, scabies and leishmania – all treated. Julia was an attempted hanging. Louisa continues with alupurinol treatment for 5 months and then she needs another analytical test. Julia’ wound has already healed but understandably she is still very traumatised. She and Louise support each other. (first 3 pix below)
Lewis, (4th pic below) the black galguito was hit, resulting in a fracture at head of the femur. He has had to undergo two operations and currently begins
the rehabilitation because he lost all the muscles and cannot support his foot; also continues with treatments.
Lute and Mirtel (7th pic below) were rescued from a marginal zone. We watched Lute for two months before we could rescue him, his leg was gangrenous; he has leishmania, erliquia and microfilaria. Treatment has been commenced for all of them but he still has a long road to go, and this treatment needs paying for. Mirtel his great partner was severely
malnourished, dehydrated and with mites in her ears, as well as a skin allergy.
Nancy, a puppy of just a month and a half, also rescued from an area
marginal She crossed the road trying to hide from 40 degrees heat, malnourished, skin infection by flea bites and dried, in places it was just skin, no hair.
Although these are all galgos, a breed that unfortunately is despised and abused continuously in Spain, in addition to these cases, we have to keep all the other dogs which are with us – food, veterinary fees, especial some also have their problems.
