You will remember I posted about the rescue by Charl del Rio of 112carlotagalgos (newly formed association) of Mary, the podenca puppy abandoned at a petrol filling station. Isn’t she absolutely gorgeous? And also Dana, a galga in kennels who is very stressed by her situation.
Charl’s association 112carlotagalgos, is just born, and so doesn’t have any backup funds -any which have been donated so far have gone out immediately to pay for vet fees and kennel costs for these two deserving dogs.
Charl has her eye on a small piece of land which she wants to purchase, to build some kennels for dogs she rescues such as Dana, Mary and Oco, and also to create a centre to educate the young Spanish to respect animals, that they have feelings, and need care and love just the same as the children do. It is only in this way that we can all fight the vile practices of animal cruelty in Spain.
Dana, stressed by being kennels, as you can see. She has lost weight and, although she loves having Mary for company, she is finding kennel life stressful, like so many of the dogs do.
So far, the vet and kennel fees for Dana and Mary total over 250 euros. So many of you wonderful Galgo News readers have donated to Charl’s association but, until Dana and Mary are adopted, she has no choice but to continue to pay the fees for the two dogs to share a kennel and a run.
If you can donate by Paypal, anything, Charl will be very grateful. All you regular GN readers will know just how much of her life Charl gives to the abandoned galgos and podencos in her area of the Costa by Malaga, Estepona, Benalmadina………of Spain. Mostly out of her own pocket.
And the best present of all would be if anyone knows anyone or has any contacts who might be prepared to buy this piece of land for Charl and invest in the centre, please point them in her direction.

Poor Dana, she lools very stressed but Mary looks so much better. Another small donation sent, wish it could be more. What one of us needs is a nice big lottery win!

Bonjour Suzie
Yes, a big lottery win would be great for a lot of
the volunteers and shelters to lurch from one financial problem to
another.
Bless you for caring.

have mary and dana been addopted yet did the rescue get enough mony to cover the rest of the vets fees jen
Hi
Been on Holiday, hence late response. Dana may have an adoptant home, Poor Mary Quite Contrary who is THE most lovable podenca is still in the kennel. So Charl still has to bear the cost of the kennel fees, 250 euros a month.
All help and especially an offer of a forever home for this delightful young podenca will be grateful received…………but must be the right home, of course.

Bonjour Jenny
Mary is with Charl del Rio 112carlotagalgos
association, in Malaga. She is in kennels, as unfortunately Charl does not have
a foster home for her. She really needs her forever home.
Preparation of the UK Pet Passport takes 7 months, I currently have a galga in
foster who will go to her forever home at the end of January. Its a case
of someone being prepared to keep the dog during this time. Also, we have
to know that there will be back-up in the UK in the event that the dog did not
fit in. If you want to take this further, please contact Charl direct comdelrio@hotmail.com.
Bless you for caring.
Beryl
