Venancio, galgo rescued in Spain, adopted in Norway – can you help him?

Venancio is a galgo rescued in Spain, rehomed in Norway. Unfortunately he arrived with a problem which is going to be extremely costly to put right. Monette tells his story.

I´m writing you with an appeal on behalf of a newly adopted galgo from Spain and his loving family. Venancio arrived Norway december 2010, where a young couple have adopted him. Unfortunately, it appears now that the damage Venancio suffered just before his departure from Spain is so bad, that the vet in Norway has given the family only two choices, either to put Venancio to sleep or to have him operated, – an operation which there is no way the family can effort!

We met Venancio at the dog shelter in Spain when we visit it, as we were going there to get our third galga, Marchela. Unfortunately we couldn´t take Venancio too, as we already have 5 dogs. But we decided to try to make an extra effort to find Venancio a loving home. This we have succeded, – the family who has adopted him love Venancio more than anything, and ofcourse they were heartbroken when the vet told them about the choices they are now facing, – put him to sleep or have him operated!

We have therefore decided to try to help raise the money for his operation, as the vet has given Venancio very good chances to be mobile and to finally have a good dog life without pain, if he is operated. My appeal to you is to please help us spread the words about his story, so that we can help this galgo and his family.

We have made Venancio a website where you can read everything about his story, see pictures of him and his injuries, also a video of him with his family. On his website we have made it possible to donate via paypal, – and also we have made the agreement with a company which pays 1 DDK for each person who clicks “like” on the company’s logo. So far we have manage to collect more than 4000 DKK but we still have a long way to go before we have collected the amount for his operation.
