They are so cute….
I’ve just recently been to Andalusia to look for a cave house and I saw my beloved dogs there in the streets. I’ve got 3 Whippets myself and we have a Galgo adopted too from Spain and me heart broke again by looking into these noble gentle faces with their wonderful eyes and tried to sooth them. A woman came up to me and said ‘we don’t like those dogs, we just USE them for hunting and after hunting season they are shot. I looked at her face and said just this: “you all ought to be shot instead of these noble dogs” and turned away… This is something that will make it I think impossible for me to live in Spain… even though I have been told that ‘people get more educated’… hà! How many decades will that still take?? I am told that Spanish people and the gipsys BELIEVE that animals (dogs) don’t have a soul and therefore they can be treated like they treat them… isnot that disgùsting?
