This beautiful galga is Risa, about 14 months old, taken to the Jerez killing station by her galguero in December 2010, to be euthanaised along with dozens of other dogs. She was rescued on Christmas Eve with 3 other galgos, one just 5 months old, by 112carlotagalgos. She is now in foster at my home in Western France, looking for her forever home.
She has her EU passport, is microchipped, vaccinated, sterilized, negative for Mediterranean diseases, and the results are awaited for her rabies antibodies blood test for possible adoption in Britain – although she is clear for adoption elsewhere in Europe now.
She is a typical ‘pup’ insofar as she is mischievous, playful and still learning house rules! She is confident with men as well as women, though nervous of strangers at first, until she realizes they are no threat to her. She walks well on a lead but loves to run free in our enclosed courtyard, and is house trained (although there is the occasional accident if she doesn’t go out to the toilet after she has been to sleep!). She is good with children, not sure about with cats, I think she would probably want to play with them!
She is very affectionate and loving and would like nothing better than to curl up to sleep on the sofa with her head in your lap. As my dogs are not allowed on the house sofa, instead she curls up on the dog bed with my galga Carmela (Risa is on the right!).
Ideally she would be best in a home where she has company, as she is likely to get into mischief if left to her own devices.
If you are interested in being considered as an adoptant for Risa, please contact either myself or Charl del Rio direct.

She is one lucky girl who looked death right in the eyes in Jerez! She is also very pretty and I´m sure she will find her forever home. Congratulations Risa and have a good life!
She is stunning!
Hi
Yes, she is, would sooooo love to keep her but she needs to be no. 1 dog or no.2 dog in a family home, not no. 5 dog as in ours. She has so much love and pleasure to give, as Charl knows only too well. Have you seen the pix I posted on Facebook?
