More galgos needing help. This beautiful boy in Cadiz was rescued from the road luckily before being injured. This is what his rescuer says about him.
‘I met this galgo on Saturday night coming home, about 12 o’clock at night on the highway to San Fernando to Port Royal. The night was very bad, didn’t stop raining and I saw him on the shoulder. I stopped quickly and the poor man came running towards me moving his tail. At that moment I knew I could not leave it there.
I got him into the car and took him home. The poor thing was full of fleas and ticks. He had a hunger and thirst. Despite the state he was in, something told him that night he would be able to sleep peacefully, and it was. The next day I got up early and went to a veterinarian on call to buy some spray and worming. I removed over 100 ticks, some the size of a pea. The next day I gave him a bath and took him to the vet for him to take an overview. He gave treatment for diarrhea and told me to take him on Wednesday for vaccination.
I usually take him out three or four times a day and he is slowly relaxing. I get the impression that he has never been taken for a walk, never played, never given a caress. All that is new to his world.
He is now recovering and, because I work 12 hours a day and he is alone, I am looking for a family, someone to care for and give affection. I do not mind keep him until we find someone. He’s not very old, the vet hasn’t said yet, but I really would like him to go to a foster or forever home as soon as possible so he is no longer on his own.
Can anyone take him? mariavazquez.cadiz@gmail.com
This beautiful galga was saved, starving frightened and weak. She was named Pearl. Now she is well and ready to find a forever home. She is super affectionate, very good, obedient, calm and cheerful, whenever I get back home, she is jumping for joy.
She is very sociable with dogs no matter the size or whether they are male or female.
She also gets along with cats, loves children and becomes crazy for a caress. She will give a lot of happiness and joy to those who adopt her. She is vaccinated, wormed, sterilize, passport and chip …………….. and of course will never be homed with a hunter.
