Subject: Galgos in need
I am Secretary of Happy Ending – Final Feliz in Cadiz, Spain. I am looking for some help. Yesterday I found 5 Galgos on public land in Conil de la frontera (out
of sight from most people near a river). They are in a poor state and
in a stinking”kennel” surrounded by shit and rubbish. Four in one and
one alone.
I have been down today (4/03/2012) to feed them, they are starving and
had no fresh water. They have sores on their bodies, no beds and
little shelter. Next to these “kennels” is a padlocked shed, no
windows, I look through a crack in the roof and there are 3 baby
goats. Just living in their own shit.
I have taken some video of the dogs. Here is the link:
I have lots of photographs too.
The dilemma is that if we report this to Seprona, and IF they decide
to act they will take the dogs away and they will probably be
destroyed.
Ironically, we have Seprona breathing down our neck at our rescue
facility and we have been told not to take in any more animals.
I really dont know what to do, but doing nothing isnt an option for me.
Can anyone help – give any advice?
Kind regards
Andrew Townsend.

hi beryl and once again if a rescue gets these poor dogs i will donate on friday i am giving 5 to each rescue up to now i can still give to another 5 rescues at 5 a time
i cant look at pics or vidios anymore unless i know they are going to be 100% rescue gals and pods it physically and mentally drains me tooooooooo much neglect
I can’t give you any advice or help, but I can tell you that my landlord and his family not only keep their animals in worse conditions than that, but they also keep ME in conditions nearly as bad and I am no more able to escape or get help than the animals are. Dozens of the British animal-lovers here make sure they look away and don’t “get involved” – quite a few have had their turn at exploiting me and pushing me down (but my favourites are the ones who stopped to take photos!)
You see, it’s not really to do with whether you’re human, animal, vegetable, mineral or abstract – it’s only a questions of a)power and b)scruples/morals/compassion.
The pony here died the other day from neglect and ill-treatment. They buried it under about 25cm of earth and a few old pallets, 40m from me.
But humans do this stuff all the time – napalming and bombing, shooting, poisoning, grabbing and destroying. Soon it will all be over.
