ACTIN is an association formed in 2012 and they are holding a Fun Day on Saturday, 25th August at La Magdalena, Murcia, to raise funds for their work. They need support to start the process of reducing the numbers of abandoned puppies, kittens, dogs and cats in the region, so have decided to try and raise money for a mobile veterinary unit, which will visit the outlying villages and do basic care advice, inoculations and neutering. So if you live in the area or are going on holiday to Murcia during August, please go along and support the event.
Viv Wharton explains the aims of ACTIN.
‘The aims of this Association will be to focus on what can be achieved in order to make changes in the laws against cruelty, neglect and abandonment. We also look to find the best ways to introduce education of the general care and welfare of all animals in Spain.
Our vision
Persistence – to change and implement the laws
Hope – to bring about many changes
Loyalty – to the animals we protect and the protectors
Teach – about compassion to living creatures
Will – to complete the tasks we set ourselves
Faith – in ourselves and human nature, that goodness and positivity will always prevail. To teach this to others and to hold our vision that we can bring the changes needed to make Spain a better place for all animals

I checked out their Website. Great organization! Sterilization is definitely the way to go, even though, for some strange reason, the Spanish seem to think it “is against nature”. Personally, I think euthanizing thousands of animals every year is against nature… I made a small donation via PayPal. Every little bit helps!
