Portuguese galga – Ines updates 21/10/2012. ‘Today has been a good day.
Estrela’s owner handed over another pup, a girl this time (24’s sister), because she was too small for his liking; she is being hand-reared by a volunteer and is doing fine (pics below). Thanks to your appeal in the galgo page, and generous donations, we have managed to buy the mum a 15Kg bag of Royal canin special lactating mother feed, which she desperately needed. Some people have offered to send milk as well, so that will be very helpful.
Meanwhile we have rescued today a stray hound that had gone feral, we had been following her for months, and today we managed to grab her and 6 more pups (pics also below).
Estrela was not sent to the races today, so at least she could get a break from that barbary. Unfortunately our volunteer did not manage to take any pics at the races, he was kept away so not sure what happened on the track, but at least we have another 8 more galgos in our care, so we can keep an eye on them.
Thank you to everyone who has donated, your support is really important to the survival of the galgas and to us to help them.’ To donate via Paypal gmail.com

We would like to gratefully thank all the donations given towards milk and food for the mum. She is now on a high energy diet and the pups are being hand-reared with the donated milk. On Teresa’s and the dogs behalf, our massive THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT.
