2 galgos down a 30ft well – Galgos del Sol to the rescue

We all know that most galgueros, especially in rural areas, will stop at nothing to dispose of their dogs, especially at the end of hunting. Galgos del Sol and Tina Solera have just taken in two young galgas, Tina tells the story.

‘We help alot of galgueros in this area…… I am so bloody disapointed with this, I can’t tell you. We have spoken with some galgueros and they believe for sure these two young galgas were stolen and the thieves did not want them to get back home. That is why galgueros build BUNKERS to prevent theft. Pistolero was stolen from a galguero here in our village two years ago… he was also found over 4 hrs away down in a deep well. These two young galgas were thrown in a well 30 meters deep and pulled out approx a couple of days ago by firemen.

We thought both were ok but surprised at how OK they seemed. The first one although injured, had a lucky escape. Nothing broken from what the vet can see at first glance.. just injuries. She is approx 6mths old

Then reality hit with the other one.

Princessa started losing blood and couldn’t breathe well. Having to make a quick decision it was decided San Vincente in Alicante were the vets to save her life. Bombed up the motorway and she was discovered to have a collapsed lung and internal bleeding. Now hospitilised, we can only hope she makes it through the night. Please Princessa…. stay with us.

Pilar is the second galga to be pulled out of the well. She must have landed on top of Princessa as she is uninjured….. now tucked up on the sofa, she is still shocked and frightened but doing well….. she is a small galga weighing just 17kg…

At the moment Princesa is stable but will remain in hospital…. still work to be done.
