Tara is just 1 year old and already experienced the trauma of being dumped in Badajoz perrera by her galguero. She has been rescued. Now renamed AMBER by Charl del Rio, she will be coming to 112carlotagalgos on 30/11/2013 with four other rescued galgos from Badajoz. Victor, Zach, Phoebe and Zara will be leaving the hell of the killing station too and travelling with Amber to start their new life at the finca under the loving hand of the Del Rio’s.
Poor little Zara is coming with a fractured leg and, with the cost of release fees, vaccines etc plus residency fees until pick up on Saturday not to even mention surgery for Zara, castration, other medical treatment needed the cost is massive.
In the past week, Charl has also taken Oliva who was put in a rubbish bin, Magenta who was thrown over a wall like a bag of rubbish, Pinkie who was saved at the last moment from the killing station. Last week Kenya and Dante had major surgery and all this is just the tip of the iceberg.
This is a small association who live on a wing and a prayer from day to day, to say the work they do is amazing are words that go no where near to describing the miracles that happen when these babies find the solitude and peace of the finca. Galgos arrive exhausted and all but dead but with the care of the Del Rio’s have found the will not just to live, but the sweetness itself of life.

112carlotagalgos is a small association with a big heart but they need cash to survive to carry on this work. Before these 5 dogs even walk through the gates of the finca on Saturday over 1,500 euros will have been spent just to get them from hell to heaven. And then the healing begins, the love is free and in abundance but unfortunately thats not the case with everything that these five babes will need.

you are a saviour charl i know i put donation through for you last week and putting extra sponsor money through to you next week and every month after that and also putting through a donation tomorrow for to go towards dukes travell another one coming to you and will ad a little extra on top of sponsor money next week for to go towards the badajoz galgos again you will need all the extra pennies you can get
Poor Olivia, put in a rubbish bin! Disgusting evil person who did that to her. They are the rubbish, not Olivia! All of the other dogs too, it is so sad, so thank goodness for Charl. As for x-mas presents we for years do not spend any money on unneccessary things, I am contend helping were it is urgently needed.

Were the same, our pressie to ourselves this year is driving down to Spain with a car load of donated goods for the refuges. Many rescues offer a Gift Certificate to people who donate, a lovely idea. I have one for little Risa, one of the 2 pups whose Mom is Estrela, the Portugal Dog Rescue galga saved in December 2012.
Beryl when you visit Charl, please take photos, I would like to spread the information about her refuge.

Beryl, as you have mentioned that sending parcels direct to Charl is not recommeneded if it arrives saftely there. May I ask if anyone living in Germany or EU countries could take parcels to Charl throughout the year, this way I can collect or make needed items to be taken down to them.
I could start making coats etc. in advance, early enough before it is getting cold. I will pay the postage. Pls get in contact with me.

which rehomes some of her galgos – maybe they could take parcels for you? I
can accept parcels myself as long as they arrive in the next couple of weeks –
we leave for Spain the weekend before Xmas.
