Meet Nanni, just 3 years old and a very handsome, striking galgo. He spent a night at my home recently during a rescue by L’Europe des Levriers, when 10 galgo puppies and a dozen galgos were brought out of Spain.

Most of the dogs are either adopted or have foster homes. But Nanni is still searching. If we had not already got Floyd, our French lurcher X, I would take Nanni like a shot!

He’s a bit nervous, but not been maltreated. He ended up in a perrera and was due to be put down. He’s got his Spanish passport, castrated, microchipped and vaccinated, please give this VERY handome chap a chance of a family life.

This is a podenco puppy needing a home before Christmas and for life. A few weeks ago hunters were about and had a pack of dogs with them.

A few days later a puppy appeared at a friend’s home. She is around 3-4 months old and will be rough-coated. She has a very sweet temperament, loves everybody and everything.

She is lying around our friend’s house, he has no fences, is unable to keep her, has tried all the refuges – they are full – and the vet surgeries. She has no microchip and no one recognises her from around this area. The hunters never came back for her.

NOW HAPPILY WITH A ‘FOREVER’ FAMILY.

These two galgos were brought out of Spain by Amigos de Los Galgos early in the year.

They have been together in foster care since then, with Joanna Simm, and they are still waiting for their forever home.

Nevado is a stunning pure white galgo, 2 years old, living in France with an English family.

They have to return to the UK and unfortunately cannot take Nevado with them, (Spanish paperwork not correct for UK) so are desperately seeking a loving home for him.

He is a gentle, affectionate, playful boy, house trained, fine with other dogs, cats and horses. He is castrated, microchipped, fully vaccinated and blood tested for leishmania, ehrlichia and filaria (all negative).

This is a link to him http://www.adopter-levrier.com/adoptions.php

Contact L’Europe des Levriers direct to adopt him. There is an English page.

Thanks to everyone who has helped me, I am now strong enough to search for a family. I want to thank everyone who has helped me get better. I now have the will to live again. Matilda.

Good News. Matilda is now up for adoption. Contact Greyhoundsrescue Holland.

Passion Levriers are appealing urgently for new homes for two galgos. They have been returned by their adoptant, who had decided that life in an apartment is not good for them.

They are affectionate and very sociable with other dogs and cats.

Viernes, is a black galgo, 7 years old. Esma is 2 and a half years old.

They need a new home quickly as they are showing signs of becoming stressed by their current unsettled situation.

I’ve received this message from Antonia, who is a volunteer and moderator of www.nordicdreams.org.

A few days ago I was told about a galgo to be sacrificed. We have one week.

The galga is called Shaila – Sheila. She is 9 years old, sterilized, very affectionate and obedient, and gets on well with other dogs, both male and female.

It’s desperate that we get Sheila out of the perrera urgently. This is the link to her.

Familiar story. This poor podenca was abandoned in Valencia. She was wandering the streets. She got pregnant.

She had her babies, and then some kids got hold of them; used them like toys – put them in a box up a tree so she could not get them. She cried in vain at the bottom of the tree and the kids laughed! Can you imagine the distress of this poor Mum!

Fortunately a lady intervened, sent the kids packing – I’d have done a great deal more!

Remember the story of Noche, rescued by Degalgos. She was in horrendously poor condition, malnourished, with scabies all over her body, and had been attacked by rats.

Here she is, healed, looking absolutely stunning, and ready for adoption.

Contact Degalgos to offer her a forever home.
