February 1 marks the end of hunting season when many Galgos meet a fate worse than the life of cruelty that they have already endured. Visit http://diadelgalgo.com/ to learn more and download tools that will help you spread the word. On February 1, let us unite and speak with one voice about the plight of these beautiful dogs.
Kathryn and Jen, two readers of Galgo News, travelled across the Pennines from Yorkshire to Manchester on 26th January to take part in the above demonstration. Kathryn reports.
‘I went to the event, meeting up with Jen and we went together. It was really great. About 350 people turned up at least but may have been more. The Hilton was surrounded! There were lots of people with bannners, memorials, wreaths and loud hailers.

Frans Kamps. Don’t give dogs to this man. He is again looking for female dodgs pretending he wants to adopt to give a good home. However, he asbuses the dogs sexually and then kills them. He has already been in court but the punishment did not fit the crime. He is now out there again looking for dogs. Take care and don’t forget his face.

From my facebook page, don’t know the name of the author.
My dogs live here; they’re here to stay.
You don’t like pets, be on your way.
They share my home, my food, my space.
This is their home, this is their place.
You will find dog hair on the floor,
They will alert you’re at the door.
They may request a little pat,
A simple “no” will settle that.
It’s got the email address for the president of the Junta of Andalucia, the emails and addresses for the Spanish embassy in Paris and the Spain’s permanent representaton at the European Council. Might be a good one to pass along to your readers. The Mairena video is on a lot of sites… it might be the one that will make things move, I hope.
There’s also this petition on Mairena:
Another petition to sign – please do – they want 100,00 signatures.
