Toledo, hell for galgos – left injured in an irrigation channel – Baas Galgo again
Toledo, another Spanish hell for galgos. We’ve already had galgos – yes, there was more than one – in a deep gorge from which they could not escape, other than starvation and death. Now we have one in a drainage channel, with a broken leg. Some of you might say ‘well the galgos could have run into the gorge, and the drainage channel’. Those involved in their rescue have their doubts. And they are on the ground, to assess.
Here’s yet another galgo in Toledo who was left, injured, where starvation and a painful death were his only options – if he hadn’t been spotted by someone sympathetic to animals.
Baas Galgo tell his story.

Toledo, trash on the streets – Baas Galgo to the rescue!
Last year there was Esperanza, a galga starved, beaten badly, chucked for dead in a rubbish skip in Spain. Rescued as she breathed her last, she was saved from the dead and finally, after nearly a year of treatment and rehabilitation, she even walks unaided – not very steadily, but still, she walks unaided. Two fingers to the bastard hunter who did that to her!
Now we have another, left for dead with the trash on a street in Toledo. People walked by whilst this galgo was unable to stand, walk, badly beaten, chucked out with the trash. Don’t tell me there is a God! No God makes the innocents suffer like this. Only the sick bastards (in this case Spanish, but could be anywhere in the world) who do this to innocent animals. Baas Galgo has saved him.

There would be more photos but the people taking them are now in trouble from the administration! ‘I am sorry not to have taken more photos in the perrera but they were not agreeing because immediately after I circulated this, many people called to insult me and they are still angry’ Contact Margarita if anyone can help any of the dogs.

More abandoned Cordoba galgas and a lame puppy
Cordoba again, yet another galga and puppies. Here’s the report from El Arca de Noe Cordoba.
’23 Dec. I was driving along a road going to a store on an industrial estate when a galga crossed my path, her teats were very swollen. I had to brake hard so as not to hit her. She ran into the rough ground on the industrial estate, and I then saw she was not alone, there was another galga with her, and a puppy – the puppy is lame.

Cuenca galga, dying from starvation, saved by Cuencanimal
Saved from the brink of death by starvation. Crouched in a hole in the ground, unable to stand to escape the volunteers, not understanding they want to save her. This dog has been starved for a long time. Cuencanimal has taken her into their care. The photos show her rescue and her visit to the vet. It will take time to build up this galga to a condition where she can be rehomed. If you want to donate to her care, the details follow.
Definition of STARVATION: starvation is a serious reduction in nutrients, vitamins and energy intake. It is the most extreme form of malnutrition, as a result of the prolonged lack of food. It is characterized by extreme weight loss, decreased metabolic rate and extreme weakness. Those who suffer from starvation may suffer severe damage to the organs and finally death. LADY was saved just in time.
