Regular readers will know that, for the past 3 years at the beginning of December, Charl has organised a Fiesta des Galgos in Malaga, where she lives. She’s just formed her own association 112carlotagalgos and from 12th -19th September, Fiesta des Galgos goes International!
It commences with Lisa’s 5,000ft parachute jump on 12th September, which is the same day as my own Fete des Galgos at my home in France. My event is a Fun Dog Show, plus Craft Fair, Have A Go Archery and display of classic and interesting cars and bikes. The following weekend on 19th September, GRIN in the US are holding a BIG galgo picnic.
We’re all very excited about this opportunity to raise even more awareness about the plight of the galgos in Spain – hopefully next year we can persuade galgo associations in other countries to join in the week.

On a negative note, Kirstene of Virgin Vie has just notified Charl that she is pulling out of doing a parachute jump, and not because of illness. Bit late in the day, when I understand people have been sponsoring her.
