Galgos del Sol is a small association formed in October 2010 by Tina Solera, who had spent the previous few years saving galgos and podencos which ended up in Los Infiernos dog shelter. In the past 7 months GdS have rescued and rehomed 53 galgos and podencos. But as with all associations, they exist on donations and fundraising. Here are four of the latest galgos to be rescued – from the side of a motorway, in the middle of a lorry transport area, terrified loose on the campo.
