With the open borders in Europe policy, it is easy for anyone to travel to Spain and take a dog out of a perrera to home in another country. There are no checks at the border, and the animals, dogs especially, are adopted in all innocence by someone who then finds themself with a sick animal. It is instances such as this which caused Belgium, two years ago, to threaten to accept imported dogs,
At the end of June this year, 20 dogs and cats died whilst being transported from southern Spain to Germany. Pro-Galgo have the story.

How utterly horrific. Does the torture never end? Just yesterday, it was too hot in my Bikram Yoga class and I almost had a heatstroke. I say ALMOST, because it was unbearable and painful and I cannot imagine in my wildest dreams what these poor creatures must endure. I really just want to scream sometimes at the sadness of the world.
RIP poor babies.
I am sure this was not done with terrible intentions, when you are on the frontline things are not easy and there often isn’t enough support. A terrible death for these poor animals and I hope they are now running free in peace. poor babies 🙁
