Let’s not forget the shelters on the islands where so many people spend holidays in the sun…Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Mallorca, Ibiza…….behind the glitz, abandoned dogs and cats struggle to survive. It’s only thanks to the few shelters and volunteers that some of them are saved. But they still need to find forever homes, mostly on the European mainland.

Beloved TARA Friends & Supporters
The dog pound in Santa Brigida in the north of the island closed down and the 30 dogs were in jeopardy of being sent to Bañaderos – the central dog pound in Gran Canaria where so many abandoned dogs are mortally injected every year.
Sylvia and her dedicated volunteers (including famed animal advocate Renee Van Wieringen) reached out with loving arms and transported them all to The Best Little Dog Shelter in Paradise (lucky, ucky pooches, are these).
Ergo the Mogan shelter in Puerto Rico is suddenly chock-a-block full and needs your help more than ever.
So, please take a close look on the website and see if you don’t spy your new BFF (best friend forever) looking out from a photo at you!
