This story is particularly sad for me. La Bienvenida, Cuidad Real, is the first refuge I visited in Spain and from where I adopted my first galga, Karmel (pic is my first meeting with her). The refuge is 200km south of Madrid.Protectora La Bienvenida
The shelter will move to a new building around Easter. That sounds nice and it is,but not for all the dogs: because at the moment there are many more dogs then there should be, it means that lots of them cannot go into the new shelter!!
It means they have nowhere to go !!
Everyone from La Bienvenida hopes and prays that organisations from within Spain or other countries will work together with them in trying to rehome as many dogs as possible before Easter, or to find foster homes..or to find other protectoras willing to take some dogs from them.

Otono: born 1-7-2011, sweet, happy pup.
Pekin: 15-2-2011, very thin and scared galgo. movements scare him off.
Timi: january 2011, submissive, obedient
Platano: 17-5-2009, first he was scared, now he’s very affectionate, loves to cuddle
Arlequin: 30-5-2010, very active, playful, happy one, not shy.

Reyes: 1-3-2010, afraid but also longing for contact
Nuez: 1-4-2011, sweet, very young dog, left at he gate
Lasca: very different: she doesn’t like to be close to dogs, but humans are fine. Still has many wounds.

Almendra: 01-08-2009, at first very afraid, but her curiosity won, so now you cab touch her.

Ligera: 11-2-2009, saved from a perrera, at first scared, but now a very sociable dog.

i do so hope they get a lot of these dogs to a rescue onley if more people would addopt but the problem is i am going to go from experiences from over here what puts a lot of people off vets bills so disgusting what they charge over here but you still get people taking dogs on then when they visit the vet and cant pay bill the easy option is to rehome or in most cases abandon the dog then you get other people saying well you shouldnt take a dog on if you cant afford to take to the vets ye another easy option excuse not to take a dog on so i think the other problem is the vets if they had a thought about animals they would lower their bills so that more people would be able to addopt and afford the vets bills
beryl loosing my way on this lot let me know if any and what rescue deal with this i can give another small donation next week sooooooo much going on at the moment with these poor dogs and rescues
