The past year was one of ups and downs. We faced unexpected setbacks and intense emotions, but also countless beautiful moments, shared with the special dogs who crossed our path. It was a hectic year that flew by, yet one we look back on with warm and grateful hearts.
We think back to all the D-days: those unforgettable moments when our beloved dogs packed their bags to meet their new families. No fewer than 177 dogs found their happiness this year. A result we could only dream of, and one that was made possible thanks to our amazing partners: Associazione ZAC Odv , Un Levriero per la Vita, Project Galgo, Vegrennen EV, Simona Norkute (Lithuania), Helping Animals Almanzora, Friends of Mazarrón Animals, Stichting Wereldhonden, and of course you—our loyal supporters. Our shelter also received invaluable support from Souls4Souls and Greyhounds in Need , for which we extend our sincere thanks.
2025 was also the year of Fatima—a story that left no one untouched. Thanks to Jana, mother and puppies were reunited, allowing her to raise them herself and prepare them for the big, new world. Moments like these give us strength and remind us why we do this work.
Just three weeks before the end of 2025, Hemingway, a very special podenco, also crossed our path. For him, this will be a year he will carry with him for the rest of his life. 2026 already promises him love, warmth, and affection—and hopefully a family of his own.
We also look back with great gratitude on our many years of wonderful collaboration with TodoPatas. Month after month, year after year, our beloved dogs could count on their warmth, love, and professionalism, ensuring they were transported safely to their destinations. As 2026 begins, our paths will part, but this is not a farewell. On every future journey toward Italy, you—Eva & Jorge—will be in our thoughts.
With 2026 approaching, we hope to start the new year with a clean slate. This means no outstanding debts with our veterinarians. Therefore, on behalf of all our residents, we ask for one final effort during the holiday season.
