Viv Wharton and the ACTIN team do incredible work in the Cartagena area of Murcia where animal cruelty among the Spanish is rife. At the moment they are working to close down a municipal dog pound and need all the support they can get, especially to pay their legal and vet fees for the dogs they take out, some of whom are extremely sick. Read about it here and donate to show your support for the incredible work they do. They are setting a precedent in Spain.

Ah Jenny that is fantastic news! Really, that has made my day! I have been thinking about Ky ever such a lot and I know he has been there for a long time so I am so pleased for him. Great stuff, hope he has a wonderful home in the UK, where I am sure he will be much loved.
Hi Jenny, I put a donation through around Christmas time for ACTIN and will continue supporting them. I will make another donation towards end of January. I agree that they are doing some wonderful and much needed work rescuing and campaigning.
Also, just off subject, as you were asking me about this previously – I am going to the C.A.G.E.D demo on the 26th Jan outside the Hilton in Manchester for the greyhounds in the racing industry. I just had to sort out both mine and the husband’s shifts, looking after the dogs etc. I will be getting train there and back. Only thing that might stop me is snow so hoping for reasonable weather!
good news about going to the demo, Kathryn; can you take pix and write a report after and send to me email to publish.
Hi Beryl, I will definitely write a report and email it to you. Not sure about pics, as will need to check out what I am allowed to do. Probably sounds daft but thought maybe some people might object. I will be able to see what it is like on the day though, never been to a demo before so it’s all really new to me!

Hi Jenny just seen your post. That would be great if I could meet up with you, as I will be on my own, thank you. Would it be OK if I ask Beryl for your email address then I can let you know details ie train time etc? Does Hull train come through Sheffield? That’s where I will be catching the train from.
