New Galgos in Scooby Valladolid – adopt a galgo
These lovely galgos are with Scooby Residencia Valladolid, hoping to find forever homes. These 2 beauties were rescued at the beginning of the week by Scooby from the perrera provincial in Valladolid. Taken there by their owner because they were not good for hunting, he said. It´s the same old song from the hunters, but happily these two are very good for sofa dogs. They are 2 boys, gorgeous, very sweet, not afraid. Lima has the white face and chest, Gustavo is the other one. Will make wonderful pets.
This is Tigressa. She’s an older girl, 7 years old, and been used as a breeding machine. She’s kind and gentle and has a lot of love to give. Towards the end of the video you can hear Cobie describing her character.
And this is Cali, a young galgo mix, under 2 years old. He was rescued from the campo, very afraid. You can see his is still nervous of people but gains in confidence and trust every day.
If you can offer any of these beauties a forever home, please contact Scooby.

Refugio Kimba, Cadiz – risking life and limb on the Spanish motorways
There has been no let up for the volunteers in Spain – every week dozens of galgos end up in perreras for killing – it’s gone on all summer – no let-up. New stories and appeals arrive every day. This is the story of one galga, Eboli. Abandoned by her galguero to take her chance on the busy roads, she was hit by a vehicle and seriously injured. Luckily volunteers from Refugio Kimba of Cadiz, the very first Spanish animal protectora, went out to rescue her, not without risk to their own safety. You can read the story and see the video of her rescue (more…)

Galgo brother & sister Sam and Sallie – waiting at 112carlotagalgos for a forever home together
Charl writes. Introducing Sam and Sallie. So young in age and trashed away. Galgo pups kept in the darkness of a shed and forgotten about … left to fend for themselves.
Just mere babies at best they scavenge the ground in the dark.. barking till hoarse Sam lost his voice. “Someone.. anyone can you feed us?”The day came when they were remembered and thrown over the fence of my friend’s refuge. The norm here… and then they become prey to be robbed. So galgos from Maria head to us for safety.

Polar’s Diary – update – Polar at play!
Many thanks to Mandy Cash for taking me through the ‘complicated to me’ process of uploading a couple of short videos of my disabled galgo pup Polar at play with his best buddy Bracken. Hope you enjoy them and to see how he copes with his damaged hind leg. Meanwhile, galga Carmela sleeps through it all!
