I have not updated on the situation for the dogs locked in a metal container in baking sunshine in Murcia because the ACTIN legal team asked for a blanket on the publicity. This ban has now been lifted and I can tell you that the ACTIN lawyers have been pushing through their case with the court. The legal team need paying, please Paypal donatons@actin-spain.com to donate to their fees…they do not charge for expenses etc.

Container dogs case – update
I am posting news here first :- (have been given permission by the lawyer to go public). I appreciate your feedback, but please try to be positive. As you can imagine, we are very frustrated and doing our best. Take heart that the dogs in the container may be safer than they were, as we have their photos, and ID:-
We have presented an excellent denuncia to the court; totally watertight, proving, with the laws that in every way this case is animal abuse. We have testimonials from 3 vets, who have also presented very well how bad this case is -with a professional description of the suffering being caused to the animals.
The legal case so far – representation from our expert animal welfare lawyer, the prosecutor, the court paperwork and attention from the judge- has cost our faithful donators 800 euros!!
Resulting in the court ordering that Seprona make a full investigation and report with a vet present.
We have now witnessed the IRREGULIAR report; a full report and photos of the inside of the container, taken by Seprona. The report is not in our favour, or the dogs and is manipulated by a very bad vet and a bad Seprona officer.
So wrong:- The owners received prior warning; dates on passports, brand new water buckets, with crystal clear water, and a clearly contrived scene inside, prove this. There are 4 dogs (podencos) and one tiny weeks old baby with its Mummy.
This situation has been denounced every year since 2010. There were many dogs at the start – in each case/denuncia, a report is passed as being well.
So – If we accept this, then it will carry on…not only here in Valencia in this village, but everywhere all over Spain – giving the go ahead to other hunters that this is ok!! Do Actin want to do what the complainants have done and back off and let these bad owners continue….and let these poor dogs suffer and die?
Actin have been asked if they wish to continue in the court to challenge the report, to find out what has happened to previous dogs, and most importantly, to insist on immediate rescue of the dogs inside. Of course we have agreed to continue – whatever it takes…….
To continue Actin need further funds of 500 Euros. Our lawyer is not charging us for the many phone calls and time it is taking to push for information and action and her rates are half normal price.
We must make a stand and we will, we need your support…….

Update 22 June
This week the Prosecutor:-
With immediate action will appeal against the bad report from Seprona. He will present the petition to show what is wrong.
An appeal will be presented against the bad statement and judgement of the official vet, again our petition to show what is wrong.
A 4th document will be presented to the townhall to research the other denuncias that were made against the case
A search is being made for other dogs in the official microchip register that were/are also owned by this owner
Although it now appears that only podencos are left in the container, many galgos are kept in similar conditions in all the hunting areas of Spain! If ACTIN can win this case, it will set an important precedent for the future.

donated… what amazing work Actin do.
It boggles the mind that anyone in their right mind would think that keeping dogs in a metal container is acceptable in any situation! It’s totally insane! No animals should ever be kept that way, even with clean water. Hats off to ACTIN and all the volunteers who have to deal with such barbarian acts on a daily basis.
Well done to Actin who do such wonderful work and recently received unwarranted criticism. They are doing things the right way and hopefully keeping the pressure on will prove successful. I will make a donation this weekend.
