This is Marisol, the latest victim of cruelty and abandon taken in by the BaasGalgo Association. Weep with me for the suffering of this little creature and for the courage of Leticia who has her in her care.
‘Marisol is only four months old and already she is suffering from severe rickets, scabies, mange, malnutrition, bone problems, and to top it all she has a bad fever and her condition is critical. Marisol was found on the morning of the 9th of December in front of the entrance to the LIDL supermarket in Torrijos (Toledo).
These photos were taken at the veterinary clinic. We are waiting for the photos taken of her at Leticia’s home – her temporary ‘safe house’.
News from Leti:
Marisol is doing better. Today I have made some new tests and we should have the results in a few days. She has settled down in the house. In spite of her terrible injuries, the scabies, her body and limbs malformed because of the malnutrition and lack of calcium, she is full of nobility, grace and gentleness.
Here are the new photos that I took of her at the vet’s today. I had the great pleasure of being able to hold her and give her little cuddles that I know all of you would want to do too if you were with her! Thanks for any and all help that you can give to Marisol. In the pictures you can see how she was at the beginning up until now.’
Sandra says, ‘At the moment we have 66 galgos, most of them in Villa del Rio shelter and several in fostercare, Dayenne and Lunita are the worst cases erlichea and leischmania. Lia has a severe infection and 6 galgos of Villa del Rio are in treatment for leismania as well.
We are working night and day to make a change in Spain, as you know we work with many famous people and get in the press all the time to denounce what is going on in Spain.
I have the translation now of the article that was made by the magazine of the most important newspaper in Spain. Read here

This year over 150 galgos have been to real families through our adoption program.
We work in France, belgium, Holland and Finland as well as in Spain’.
